-Layla/Cristianand Kyle/Oliver enjoy their romantic happiness. Looming is the factthat Fish is the father of Stacy's baby. Kyle and Oliver will becomeaware of the questions about the paternity and will be pulled into theumbrella story.

-Most of Llanview's new year will revolve around the machinations of Mitch.

-Mitchis controlling Dorian from behind the scenes so that he can have freerein as mayor. Mitch has gotten Bo fired so he can be in control.Dorian loses everything because of what's she's done. But she can'texplain to the Cramer girls because that would endanger them. Dorian'sreplaced Bo with Lowell, so her family hates her. Mel appears whenDorian is in a moment of crisis.

-Mitch is fixated on Stacy'sbaby because he thinks it's his grandchild and that it is chosen tofulfill a crazy prophecy of his.

-Gigi has chosen Schuylerover Rex, meaning Schuyler has finally gotten what he wants. But thereis a chance that he will lose everything when the truth about Stacy'sbaby comes out.

-Clint has a new lease on life with Kim. She'smolded after Tina and Gabrielle. He's got her number and she's got his.They form a very interesting relationship.

-Bo and Nora try tohave some happiness as they enter 2010. They have some obstacles. Bohas lost his job. Then there's Matthew getting involved with Tea andTodd's daughter. Bo isn't fond of Todd. Nora has a big rivalry withTea.

-Rachel and Greg will be trying to make a go of it andget acceptance by his family. Rachel has become Schuyler's confidante.Rachel keeps that a secret from Greg.

-Charlie and Viki aretested because he is drinking again. Charlie's alcoholism and need forrevenge will cause problems. Charlie may not be able to live with thefact that his sons killer is walking free. Charlie will ally withDorian, because she is looking for a way to get rid of Mitch. There aregoing to be some fireworks there.

-John and Brody aredetermined to protect Natalie and Jessica from Mitch. These are twogirls who don't always want to be protected.

-Langstonloves Markko, but then hot guy Ford comes into the picture. He is veryseductive and has his eye on her. We'll see if Ford can breakLangston's defenses down.

-Starr and Cole move in together nowthat she's turning 18 in January. Young kids trying to make a go of itwith a baby is easier said than done. Starr wants to do this on her ownwithout Todd's help.

-Marty and John are progressing butMitch's presence continues to throw John and Natalie together. Thatwill begin to bug Marty. Marty knows that John has a need to rescuepeople, because that's how they got together. Marty wonders if John'sgoing to get together with Natalie since she needs rescuing.

-Danielleis a very angry teenage girl who believes that Todd killed her father.So she's set up to hate Todd who is her biological father. Todd has thedecks stacked against him already and then Tea promises Danielle thatshe will stay away from Todd because that's what Danielle wants. ButTea still loves Todd. Todd has this goal to have a relationship withDanielle, who wants nothing to do with him. Starr becomes Danielle'srole model in a lot of ways.

-Elijah will have a interestingrelationship with Blair. Blair's New Year's resolution is that she willget over her obsession with Todd.

Cristian lets Ford know that Layla is with him when he tries to put themoves on her on Wednesday, January 6. Apologizing for his actions, Fordstrikes up a friendship with Cristian. Layla and Cristian realize thatthey are now boyfriend and girlfriend.

Shaun and Destiny reflect on their miserable love lives. And somethingabout Ford just gets under Markko’s skin. Meanwhile, Langston can’tseem to stop thinking about Ford.

The Inside Story: One Step at a Time

Brodyadvises Charlie that he can’t keep lying for him. Charlie painfullyadmits to Viki that he has fallen off the wagon, and that he doesn’tthink he can stop drinking. Mitch informs Dorian that he has one finaltask for her with regards to Bo on Monday, January 4. Armed with anenvelope from the former cult leader, Dorian levels a shockingallegation against the ousted top cop. By Tuesday, January 5, MayorLord confronts Bo with the letter opener used to stab Mitch, andaccuses him of tampering with evidence. Natalie quickly comes to heruncle’s defense by confessing to stabbing Mitch. However, John stepsforward and takes full responsibility for the incident, in an attemptto protect Bo and Natalie. With tempers flaring, Bo agrees to step downas police commissioner to help take the heat off John and Natalie. ByThursday, January 7, Dorian is aware of the consequences when she isforced to do Mitch’s bidding once more and appoint disgraced formerMayor Stanley Lowell as Bo’s replacement. Outraged and disgusted,Starr, Blair, Langston, and Addie all walk out on Dorian. Martyconfronts John over his need to help people, whether they need it ornot. As Charlie fights the urge to drink, Viki takes him to visitJared’s grave, where they find Natalie an emotional wreck. Bonded bygrief, Charlie and Natalie come together in their time of need. And theCramer girls plus Jack and Sam arrive on Todd’s doorstep on Friday,January 8, to tell him of Dorian’s latest actions. As for Dorian, sheis visited by Mel’s spirit, who warns her that the worst is yet tocome. Also, when Blair jokingly tells Elijah that they should hook up,and they share a kiss. In an attempt to forget with whom their heartstruly belong, Blair and Elijah have an evening of wild, hot sex. Elihopes he and Blair can be friends with benefits.

A Closer Look: Breaking Up is Hard to Do

Shane’sarrival at the cabin puts an abrupt halt to Gigi and Schuyler’s morningof bliss. Angered by what he sees, Shane accuses his mother of breakingup their family just to be with Schuyler. On Monday, January 4, Gigiinforms Schuyler that she will not let her son tell her how she willlive her life. Roxy is uneasy when Kyle questions her about Mitch.Meanwhile, Rex arrives at Viki’s cabin to visit Gigi. By Tuesday,January 5, Gigi is forced to confess her tryst to Rex, who is leftheartbroken by the turn of events. Rubbing salt in his wounds, Gigigoes on to tell Rex how she has chosen to be with Schuyler. OnThursday, January 7, Mitch enacts his revenge on Stacy for refusing togive up her unborn baby, by ordering Nurse Gayle Charles to attackStacy with a drug-laced syringe. Later, Mitch is none to happy withwhat he sees when he arrives at Rex’s loft. Meanwhile, Rex seeks legaladvice from Elijah, who warns him against fighting Gigi for fullcustody of Shane. Stacy is terrified of Mitch after learning what hecapable of. Rex arrives just as Mitch and Nurse Charles are kidnappingStacy. Rex warns Mitch again about harming his family. Gigi cannotbelieve that Rex talked to Elijah on Friday, January 8. The pair soonmanage to reach an understanding when they decide that Gigi should moveback to the carriage house to live with Shane. However, Rex remainsadamant that Schuyler is not to spend the night when Shane is at home.Elsewhere, Téa tells Todd that she loves him, but can’t see him forDanielle’s sake. Todd tells Téa that he still loves her too, andunderstands why she is wanting to leave town with their daughter. AsTodd and Téa are drawn into a kiss on Tuesday, January 5, so areMatthew and Danielle, who both admit they have never kissed anyonebefore. Todd and Téa have a hard time parting company on Wednesday,January 6, and make love. Afterward they pray for the day when they canbe a family, and agree to be patient and wait until the time is right.Todd laments to Blair that he may never get the chance to know hisdaughter, and thinks of Téa. Arriving in Tahiti with Danielle, Téacan’t stop thinkig about Todd.
